Hello all! As I have begun to notice, the Midwest has become a very popular place to settle lately. This is good, as this means more help for me to make the Midwest better, and when I say better, I mean a place of pro-nationalism gone awry. But, the situation here is grim, very grim. I have no godd*mn idea what's going on there! Or even what has happened there, and I would feel just awful if I wrote something that chased all you cowhands away.
So, anyone want to help me write a plausible, yet very vague backstory to the state known to the Union as "Heaven" and south dakota?
Don't raise your hand, because the local raiders may try and cut them off. Just leave a comment below, and I'll take a peek and mosey on later.

So, another post about Pre-war America - no, I'm not ranting about the lack of Pre-war mentioning articles. Essentially, this time, I'm talking about;
THE PRE-WAR PLEASURE VILLAGES OF YESTERYEAR!
But first, a word from our sponsor;
You know the types; Point Lookout, Primm, etc. I'm a big fan of the idea of insular, or quasi-insular, communities that were built solely for tourists. These types of places really echo the whole Pre-war luxury of the US and make the point of the rise and fall of America. Primm less so, however, mostly thanks to the real lack of any tourists in the town, the lack of any backstory for the place and the real lack of any defining characters; you could make the case for Primm Slimm, but I digress. Point Lookout, ho…Read more >
So, a blog where I, in essence, shout about the lack of articles with any real information that concentrates on the pre-war days of America, which me and CarthAntilles often like to do. I've always been a fan of the pre-war appearance in the Fallout universe, everything from Tranquility Lane to Sanctuary Hills, with the little traces of "Leave it to Beaver" and the idealized, retro-futuristic atomic powered dream that was quite prevalent in the mid 20th century. All of this is seen in the Fallout universe, albeit briefly and usually as way of contrasting alongside the grim and gritty wasteland. Here's an example of what I'm talking about when I say idealized, retro-futuristic atomic powered dream;

I figured this needed to be addressed to you directly. The fact that the Immortals have destroyed several of the Boise gangs is unacceptable. POSSIBLE SPOILERS, AVOID IF UNWILLING TO SPOIL POSSIBLE STORY ELEMENTS OF THE GAME
So far, confirmation for what is and isn't considered lore is a tad sketchy, but from what I've explored in the game; I can confirm quite a few things. The Defense Intelligence Agency has been raised prior to the events of Fallout 4, though only in the DLC Point Lookout, and only as a glancing mention. Now, thanks to the exploration of one of the DIAs underground facilities, I can confirm that they use the real life DIA logo, and also not only use Agents and Special Agents, but also possess other staff which conduct research in to advanced fields.

"'The Paranoia Experiment"
Based off the idea of 'The Seattle Freeze', in which a Seattle Newspaper claimed that people from Seattle are naturally against outsiders and prefer certain cliques outside of openly conversating with others.
The Vault Experiment began roughly three days into the lock down, where the Vault Overseer reported that the Vault had overcounted and that an additional resident had entered, it was also hinted that the extra citizen was actually a Chinese Spy.
At first, only asian persuaded people were brought to the Vault Security and overseer but were all later released with no explanation why. This is because the entir…Read more >

Just giving everyone a heads up, the template for the music player is currently not working. If you make any kind of edit to a page right now with the player already embedded it will cause it to no longer function. So please keep that in mind before you do any minor editing on the wiki. Ask yourself if this edit can wait until the situation gets resolved.
There actually seems to be a lot of other wierd bugs occuring with the wikia code, so we'll need to have patience while this gets sorted.
UPDATE In the meantime, here is a workaround that should work for any affected pages. Its taken from our friends at the 40k wiki.

Greetings my Fellow Editors!
The primary purpose of this blog post is to generate some interest in the Four State Commonwealth state: New Mexico ("The Land of Enchantment"). Not a lot seems to be written about this beautiful state, though it bountiful in all that makes the Fallout universe special. Heck, the world was ushered into the nuclear era in the confines of this area. Now I know a few articles have been written concerning the states: settlements, characters, etc. Yet there are still be major elements that could be explored.
Keep in mind: this post is strictly for brainstorming. Nothing is being created here, as things need to be cross-checked with other articles as well as additionally researched.

Hey everyone, so as I said this is the new contest I was intending to put up today, a remake of the contest from February. Anyway, The challenge is simple; the Mexican State of Chihuahua has been stripped of its content after the "Little Wipe" and rather than leave it blank we're going to use it for this contest, you are to write a Character, Location, Group or Story centered in the state of Chihuahua. Those pages that are submitted will be voted upon by the userbase and the winner will be the lucky owner of three fine examples of pre-war death machines, Three Howitzers to be used at their discretion in an article of their choosing. Good writing, you have until 7/23/15.

I have to say; seeing the trailer was amazing, but at the same time; it feels quite a bit... well, odd; Apparently now; Helicopters are still in use, if only in small use in Pre-War America, despite the claim of Fallout Tactics that there is little fuel left, and that they are expensive wastes of fuel. If you study the sight of the Helicopter; it appears to be a VTOL, so it may be a Vertibird Prototype. I'm unsure how to feel about the changes to the aesthetic also, it looks to be that the Mr Handy and Protectron haven't changed, but the Vault suit seems to have returned to the more Fallout 1 and 2 design.

I will also note if the greater community does not want such events to take place

Now, this is completely unrelated to fanon in every way possible, but I'd like to know everyone's opinion about the idea of having another top-down, or thereabouts, Fallout game, like the games from the days of Interplay, when Interplay was on a roll.
I've been going on a lot of over-head/side-on RPGs/RTSs, and one thing I've noticed is how they have a certain, classical taste to them. Take for example, Omerta: City of Gangsters. It's like a less-developed Fallout: Tactics-esque kind of game, major differences being the lack of weapons/movement/inclusions of other systems, but the combat itself was a turn-based system that reminded me, albeit slightly, of the old top-down Fallout titles, and reminded me of Black-Isle's canned title, Van Bur…Read more >

Some of you have no doubt wondered why I'm a bit uptight about the content of the fanon, and the answer is simple: I'm enforcing the mandate that I was given when I was appointed administrator. A while back, I felt that the userbase had changed and that is was appropriate to offer them a chance to change the tone or style of the fanon, to determine what is and isn't acceptable. They opted to let things continue as is. The smell of the ancient and freshly dead perfumed the air. Bluegrass ash drifted on the wind from the north-east. Hud kept his back pressed firmly on the rusted hulk of a Transverse Stormbird, doing his best to ignore the rank stench that came from the deceased Ned, who had voided his bowels an hour ago. Hud peeked over the hood of the wreck, spying a skirmish between Cumberlanders and Commies. Hello everyone, I saw this being conducted on another website that I was on the other day. Basically what it is the players all pick a nation, state or group from the Fallout universe, they agree on the borders and where they can be placed and the players basically train military units, for example: The NCR trains one infantry battalion and one cavalry battalion and thats all they get for that turn along with an attack move. They play for a set amount of time and end whenever one side is the clear victor. Naturally the amount of units that can be trained are based around the population of said nation state, example: NCR has around 700,000 people according to Nukapedia and the Vault thus the number of units they can train would be limited b…Read more >

So, I had this idea and OP said I should poll it to the masses to see if we should actually set up some kind of guidelines for it.
The concept is essentially allowing writers to create their own unique character specific perks for characters they write. Now we can all see where this can go awry, with people giving characters perks that allow immunity to the elements or certain types of damage etc.. But there's also potential to add some different flavors to characters. Two existing examples are on the characters Hoodlum and Eric Haganey, who have the perks Shotgun Diplomacy and Old World Values respectively. I think that, with the proper guidelines, this could be a fun addition to the character creation process.
Now I think a few ground rul…Read more >

Finally, could it be possible that there arose another group with gear simmilar to the Brotherhood?
